Mr. Nicholas M. Krafka started playing the trumpet at age 9. From a young age he was interested specifically in concert band, jazz band and marching band and those interests drove his education throughout grade school. He attended the Sunderman Conservatory at Gettysburg College majoring in Music Education. While there he continued private instruction on Trumpet, but also delved into Jazz Improvisation, Piano, Guitar, and Percussion. Mr. K also continued performing in Wind Ensembles, Symphony Bands, Jazz Band, Jazz Combos, Symphony Orchestra and A Cappella ensembles. Upon graduating Cum Laude with a B.S. in Music Education in 2011, he returned to MA and began to teach music in Fall River. After teaching General Music and Choir at Morton Middle School he moved to Norton, MA where he taught at Norton Middle School and Norton High School. At the Middle School Mr. K taught Concert Band, Jazz Band, and classroom music. At Norton High School he taught Concert Band, Jazz Band, Pep Band, Concert Choir, A Cappella, Percussion, American Music History, Guitar, and Music Theory.
In 2018 Mr. Krafka was awarded his Masters in Music Education from Boston Conservatory and Berklee College of Music. He currently teaches at Beverly Middle School focusing on Band (5, 6, 7, and 8), the All-City Jazz Band, and General Music. |
